Python Editor

Python editor also known as the Integrated Development Editor (IDE) are software that allow users to manage their own programming language and instructions, enable a favourable workspace to write, debug and execute the code based on the features provided by the particular software. There are a lot of software to edit the desire instruction. Plus, different IDEs come up with different flavour which it influences the users productivity as well.

One of the IDEs that the most common is Jupyter Notebook. It contain both computer code and rich text elements. Notebook documents are both human-readable documents containing the analysis description and the results as well as executable documents which can be run to perform data analysis. After that, we have Pydev with Eclipse. Pydev is the Python IDE for masses for the simple reason that it is free of cost and comes packed with powerful features for efficient Python programming. It is an open source plugin that runs on top of Eclipse and brings Python to the kingdom of Eclipse. As for the professional and commercial uses we have PyCharm. PyCharm is a full featured IDE for Python from the house of company named JetBrains. JetBrains is making top notch developer tools for last 15 years with an aim to make development easier and enjoyable.

Python Library

Python library is a collection of functions of methods that allow the user to perform lots of actions without using own code.

These are the libraries:

NumPy - To provide some advance math functionalities to python.

SymPy - To do algebraic evaluation, differentiation, expansion and complex number.

SciPy - To perform high-level data processing routines such as optimization, regression, interpolation and etc.

Matplotlib - To perform 2-D visualization such as 'publication ready' plots.

PyGame - To use for Python game engine.

wxPython - To provide a graphical user interface toolkit for python.

NOMENCLATURE

The name of every organic molecule has 3 parts:

RULE 1

Find the parent carbon chain and add the suffix.

RULE 2

Number the atoms in the carbon chain from the end that gives the first substituent the lowest number.

RULE 3

Name and number the substituents.

Name the substituents as alkyl groups.
Every carbon is part of the longest chain or a part of a substituent, not both.
Each substituent needs its own number.
If two or more identical substituents are bonded to the longest chain, use prefixes to indicate how many: di- for two groups, tri- for three groups, tetra- for four groups, etc.

Finally, write the name.

Substituent names and numbers come before the parent.
List substituents in alphabetical order, ignoring all prefixes except iso, as in isopropyl and isobutyl.
Separate numbers by commas and separate numbers from letters by hyphens. The name of an alkane is a single word, with no spaces after hyphens and commas.

Converting 2D structure to 3D

Molview - Converting 2D to 3D

For this week, we learned more about the chemicals in computer sciences, from naming the chemical up to getting the diagram of the structure of the chemicals compound using many apps available for chemistry use.

We also learned that the 2D structure of chemicals can be converted to 3D diagram using molview, a free browser app that user friendly and very easy to use. All we have to do just copy the draw the 2D structure and the app will automatically convert the structure to 3D.

We also can get the embed file for the structure to put it on the website.

What Is Color?

In 1666, English scientist Sir Isaac Newton discovered that when pure white light passes through a prism, it separates into all of the visible colors. Newton also found that each color is made up of a single wavelength and cannot be separated any further into other colors.

Color Psychology as Therapy

Several ancient cultures, including the Egyptians and Chinese, practiced chromotherapy, or the use of colors to heal. Chromotherapy is sometimes referred to as light therapy or colorology and is still used today as a holistic or alternative treatment.

In this treatment:

Red was used to stimulate the body and mind and to increase circulation.
Yellow was thought to stimulate the nerves and purify the body.
Orange was used to heal the lungs and to increase energy levels.
Blue was believed to soothe illnesses and treat pain.
Indigo shades were thought to alleviate skin problems.

Last week, we had our presentation with Dr Raihan about the gene and its effect on extracellular matrix cell. Our class been divided into 12 groups where the members of the group must have four people.The brothers group divided into two groups and for first brother group, we has been assigned with BCL2 gene. DNA Sequencing

There are many functions of the DNA but it primarily acts as instructions for body cells to make proteins and in determining the phenotype (such as hair colour and eye colour).

DNA make up genes and each gene specifically carry out a single body function.

Fun facts:

There are about 60 trillion cells in the human body
46 chromosomes in total (23 pairs)
There are also approximately 100,000 genes
The length of a DNA strand in a single cell, if it is uncoiled and removed from the nucleus, is about 2.17m
Therefore the total distance that DNA can cover, if taken out of every single cell, will be approximately 120 trillion metres! Which is about travelling 500 times from the earth to the sun!
